Lifting Weights Helps Reduce Belly Fat.
If you want to lose your belly this year, then you may want to start weight training. Researchers say that daily weight training is more effective than aerobic exercise at reducing abdominal fat. The results of a recent study showed that men who increased the amount of time they spent lifting weights by 20 minutes a day ended up with smaller waistlines at the conclusion of the study than those who increased their aerobic exercise by 20 minutes a day. Senior study author Dr. Frank Hu adds, “This study underscores the importance of weight training in reducing abdominal obesity, especially among the elderly. To maintain a healthy weight and waistline, it is critical to incorporate weight training with aerobic exercise.”
